Caden's Birthday

Caden turned 3 on Sunday. This year was so fun. He was so excited for it and has been talking about it for a long long time. He had also been requesting a train birthday cake for quite a while. I feared he would change his mind last minute and want something different, but he stuck with the train cake. It feels weird that I actually have a 3-year-old. Where does the time go?! We had a birthday party with Clint's parents, Brent, Darcee and their kids, and Bucky, Emily and Jenny (Emily's sister).

The birthday boy!

The party. Cole, Keith and Ally helped with the present opening and cake eating.

Caden is determined, silly, passionate, and stubborn as ever. He makes me laugh every day...even on bad days. He has a certain way he likes to do things and if it doesn't happen he ALWAYS makes it known by loud yelling, screaming or crying. He loves to read books, play with trains, ride his bike or any wheeled toy, wave good bye, play with cousins and grandparents, see if he can get something from Clint if he doesn't get it from me, loves treats, pretends to serve us milkshakes, french fries and hotdogs, loves his blanket which is attached to his hip, likes to help me cook in the kitchen (mostly cookies or some kind of treat), loves his little brother and always wants to show him things and include him in whatever we are doing, and tries to get by on as little sleep as possible. He says his prayers on his own unless he requests help. At nap time and bed time we must say "close your eyes and go to sleep" as we are leaving (it usually ends up being 4 or 5 times). We love this little boy and the red hair and personality that he came to this earth with.

Happy birthday Caden!! Wow, was his birthday before or after the move?? How did all of that go? Are you liking Tigard? Looks like I'm going to need to call you up pretty soon and catch up! Little Caden's personality just cracks me up- kids have a mind of their own! Carter is currently in "bed" for a nap, singing and kicking his crib...

Jules we really need to get together sometime soon now that you guys live so close. I actually ended up running into your sister-in-law at Costco last week!
